Due to the success of this workshop last term, I am pleased to say it will be happening again.
Trauma refers to a psychological and emotional response to an event or series of events that are distressing, overwhelming, and beyond an individual's ability to cope.
Signs of unprocessed trauma can show up as:
Emotional Distress - feelings of low self-esteem, fear, sadness, anger, guilt, shame.
Physical Symptoms - such as headaches, fatigue, sleep disturbances, IBS, tight muscles, physical pain.
Addictions – food, alcohol, smoking, drugs, sex, gambling, shopping.
Hyperarousal - Are easily startled, irritable, or have trouble concentrating.
Dissociation - feeling disconnected from oneself/ the present moment as a way of coping with overwhelming emotions.
In this 2.5-hour embodied workshop, we will explore how trauma is showing up in our lives and use the tools of trauma informed yoga and somatic-based therapies to help find release.

At times, we all have negative self-talk that judges, criticises, tells us we are not good enough, and shuts us down from taking the next step forward. However, there's a gift in exploring this "inner critic." It can help us identify our deepest values and even help us grow into the fullest expression of ourselves!
In this 2.5-hour embodied workshop, we will learn to develop a new relationship with our inner critic (so it doesn't run our lives, for example).
We will explore this relationship through trauma-informed yoga and somatic-based therapies.
